			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Here is first tip for new coaches, you have never thought about, most people don&#8217;t pay nearly enough attention to the message on the answering machine, and it mostly happens with new coaches who have less understanding with psychological state of the new client.  Your answering Message is the first reception that your client gets when they make the critical decision to attempt personal contact! So you need to think through common concerns people have and confidently address them.  Here&#8217;s what your potential client is thinking when they make the call&#8230;</p>
<ul>
<li>How long will it take to call me back?</li>
<li>Is it confidential?</li>
<li>How long can I speak for?</li>
<li>Does this person really want to hear from me?</li>
<li>Should I need a coach? Shouldn&#8217;t I be able to work out my life for myself?</li>
<li>Can I afford it?</li>
<li>Will this person be cruel or criticize me?</li>
<li>Will I be able to articulate my needs, goals, and desires?</li>
</ul>
<p>So on your voice mail, you need to speak long enough and lovingly enough that people can connect to your voice and look forward to the next contact. You need to address all of the above concerns.  You also want to reinforce your phone number, because people don&#8217;t always leave a message the first time they call. Reinforcing your phone number will get your client to memorize it quickly.  All direct response studies show a heightened conversion rate when you spell out in detail exactly what you want your prospect to do, therefore, you also need to take people by the hand and remind them of the best way to use voice mail.  Remind them how long they can speak.  Calm them down &#8211; help them speak slowly and clearly.  In the light of above tips, I hope you&#8217;ll take me up on the suggestion of calling around to hear how other life coaches represent themselves on their machines. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Today we are going to define Performance Coaching, using David Kolb&rsquo;s Learning Cycle.  Many coaching clients will seek coaching for performance enhancement rather than the rectification of a performance issue. Coaching has been shown to be highly successful intervention in these cases. When an organization is paying premium rates for development services, performance is usually the key pay-back they are looking for. Even if an executive or manager receives support in balancing work and home life, it will be with the aim of increasing their effectiveness and productivity at work and not for more altruistic reasons.  Performance coaching derives its theoretical underpinnings and models from business and sports psychology as well as general management approaches.  As a performance coach you should advocate David Kolb&#8217;s Learning Cycle:</p>
<ol>
<li>Life gives us &quot;gifts&quot; in the form of opportunities to have experiences.</li>
<li>Coaching provides the opportunity to get feedback from these experiences &#8211; this is achieved by questioning and clarifying.</li>
<li>Further probing and questioning creates insights and common themes which lead to the learner reflecting on the experiences, the action that was taken and the consequences of this action.</li>
<li>From these insights and personal discoveries, conclusions are drawn that, if sufficiently powerful, can relate back to other current or past situations.</li>
<li>The valuable lessons learned from this exercise are then applied to future situations in the form of experiments.</li>
<li>From these experiments, experiences are provided as well as further opportunities to learn more and the cycle goes around again.</li>
</ol>
